• Planting 350 tree seedlings (some in the ground, some in the nursery)

• Starting a tree nursery in the vacant lot at Bellows and Green for future highway adjacent plantings

• Seeding the highway slope with prairie seeds/native wildflowers

• Cleaning up trash

Everyone is welcome — neighbors, students, community members, and anyone who wants to help rebuild our neighborhood’s green buffer.

Kids and teens are more than welcome to participate in planting or cleanup with supervision. Please note: the event will take place on both sides of a street and in areas with broken glass and trash, so this is not a safe space for younger children to play. We won’t have childcare or a designated kids’ area.

• Sturdy shoes

• Feel free to bring your own gloves and protective eyewear. We’ll have lots of these but they’re nothing fancy. If you have your own, you’re welcome to bring them.

• Keep Columbus Beautiful and OSU have provided all the tools needed for this project

• Green Columbus is providing the seedlings and prairie seed
